NTC is a negative temperature thermistor, whose principle is that the resistance value decreases as the temperature rises. It is usually composed of 2 or 3 types of metal oxides, mixed in a fluid like clay, and forged into a dense sintered body in a high-temperature furnace. The packaging size is diverse, and they can be as small as 0.01 inches or smaller in diameter. There is almost no limit to the maximum size, but it is usually suitable for sizes below half an inch.

 

NTC thermistors are widely used in the field of temperature measurement. Compared to semiconductor integrated temperature sensors, NTC thermistors have the characteristics of wide temperature measurement range, convenient use, and low price. Compared with platinum thermistors or thermocouples, NTC thermistors have the characteristics of high sensitivity, simple circuit, and low cost.
