JSR047 Semi Rigid Coaxial Cable, Working Frequency of up to DC-40GHz
JSR series
The first thing to be clearly understood is that semi-rigid coaxial cables and cable components themselves are a critical type of microwave component, and it is extremely important to be aware of this. This means that the specifications of semi-rigid cables are of equal importance to those of any coupler, bridge, or even amplifier.
This series of cables can successfully achieve predictable stability in connecting other components of the system. As long as any good link budget analysis is studied, it can be found that electrical parameters, including attenuation and voltage standing wave ratio, play a crucial role in the transmission and reception of RF signals at a given frequency.
Semi rigid coaxial cable components typically support RF signal transmission within 65GHz. In addition, although not commonly used, cable assemblies terminated with 1.0mm connectors can achieve high-frequency applications up to 110GHz.
The semi-rigid coaxial cable series comes in various sizes, with conventional outer conductor diameters ranging from 1.19mm to 3.58mm. Cables with smaller connectors are increasingly favored by users due to their ability to support higher frequencies.
For JSR series cable components, in order to be perfectly embedded in the designed system, they often need to be precisely shaped into various shapes. As the name suggests, semi-rigid coaxial cable is a type of cable that has both sufficient rigidity to maintain its shape and sufficient flexibility to be manually bent.
Meanwhile, manually shaping semi-rigid cables into the desired shape is a risky task. To prevent damage to the external pipe wall, specialized tools and machines should be used to bend or shape the cables. In addition, once such cables are shaped into a specific shape, it is extremely difficult to change their shape again. This is because shape changes often cause damage to the outer conductor, resulting in the formation of fine lines in the outer wall, ultimately affecting the electrical performance of cable components.
JSR047 is a commonly used size for traditional semi-rigid RF cables, which consists of a silver plated copper center conductor, a solid core PTFE dielectric, and a seamless copper tube outer conductor. The coating is generally selected as bare copper, ternary plating, or nickel plating. With a working frequency of up to DC-40GHz, good shielding, high reliability, low attenuation, and small standing wave, it is widely used in the field of mobile communication, military radar navigation, electronic countermeasures, weapon systems, medical equipment, and other equipment for transmitting high-frequency signals.
Features and advantages:
Not easy to bend but easy to shape:
The outer conductor of semi-rigid cables is usually made of seamless metal tubes, which makes them not easy to bend, but once shaped, they can remain stable and are very suitable for internal wiring.
Good shielding properties:
The outer conductor of the seamless metal tube provides excellent shielding effect for the cable, effectively preventing interference from external signals.
Structural stability:
The high-strength outer conductor ensures the stability of the internal structural dimensions, making it easy to manufacture high-performance cable components for semi-rigid coaxial cables.
High frequency signal transmission:
Semi
rigid cable components support RF signal transmission up to 65GHz, and
some high-end products or specially designed cables can even support
signal transmission at higher frequencies.
Test report:
Due to its unique structure and characteristics, semi-rigid coaxial cables are widely used in systems that require the transmission of high-frequency signals, such as mobile communications, military radar, and electronic countermeasures. Meanwhile, due to its excellent electrical performance and phase stability, it has also become a popular choice for engineers when designing microwave components.
