What Are the Safety Features of Lithium-Ion Batteries?
Safety is paramount when it comes to Lithium-Ion battery technology, and the SANUPS Lithium-Ion Battery Pack doesn’t disappoint. Utilizing various safety technologies, this pack minimizes the risk of accidents such as overcharging, over-discharging, and short circuits. These safety features ensure reliable operation even in demanding environments.
1. Use of iron phosphate battery cells
The battery cells in this product utilize lithium iron phosphate in the cathode material, featuring high thermal stability and electrolyte stability. This design ensures that even in the event of battery pack malfunctions, such as overcharging and overdischarge.
2. Protection circuits with a circuit breaker
The protection circuits are equipped with a circuit breaker. Upon detecting malfunctions such as overcurrent, overcharge, and overdischarge within the battery pack, the built-in circuit breaker is triggered, safeguarding the battery pack by interrupting the charging/discharging circuit. Additionally, in the event of an accidental terminal short circuit, the protection circuit is activated to prevent the flow of short-circuit current, thereby ensuring safety.
3. Built-In Safety Protection Functions
Moreover, with each protection circuit being fully redundant, the backup circuit ensures continuous protection, even in the event of a single circuit failure. This design enhances the reliability of the battery pack’s safety features. Additionally, it’s worth noting that our battery pack is UL 1973-certified, adhering to the rigorous safety standards outlined in the UL standard for Batteries for Use in Stationary and Motive Auxiliary Power Applications. Below are the protection functions achieved by this circuit design.
In addition to its array of advanced features, including an expanded operating temperature range (-20℃ to +60℃), sustained high battery capacity even after extensive charge/discharge cycles, and an integrated battery management system, SANUPS Lithium-Ion batteries embody safety and reliability in UPS technology. With a steadfast commitment to safety, these batteries empower UPS installations across diverse applications, ensuring unparalleled uninterrupted power delivery and peace of mind.
