Kendeil is proud to announce the high voltage range extension of our K04 and K06 series.

Usually, in high power electronics applications, such as high voltage DC/DC converters, inverters and motor drives, there’s the need of a DC link between the DC and AC part of the system. It is often implemented through an electrolytic capacitor bank with several capacitors, connected in series and parallel configuration, thus achieving high capacitance value at high DC rated voltages. But there’s a big potential issue by doing this: the mismatches between capacitors may lead to significant differences in the LC (leakage current) values, thus to unbalances in the final voltage level of each capacitor with potential catastrophic failures. This problem is usually mitigated with two methods: first of all, it is better to mount capacitors of the same batch, so that the deterministic mismatches are minimized (but the statistical ones are always present) and secondly, through the use of balancing resistors and/or active balancing systems.


All these problems may be solved by choosing our newest high voltages electrolytic capacitor, that reaches high capacitance values at voltages up to 630VDC! So, no more series connections are needed!
