TE Connectivity Achieves VG Certification for K-Series Contactors
TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, has achieved VG certification for its HARTMAN K-Series contactors, facilitating their adoption for demanding aerospace, rotorcraft, eVTOL, ground vehicle, marine, and defense sectors.
The prestigious VG certification is administered by the German Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology, and In-Service Support. This recognition by the Bundeswehr, Germany’s unified armed forces, as well as related civilian administrative and procurement organizations, is an important benchmark reflecting TE’s commitment to performance, quality, and durability.
TE’s smallest and lightest K-Series contactors are now VG96928 approved across four product families – K200, K400, K500 and K1000 – covering current switching capabilities from 200 to 1,000-amp loads. The low-power, space/weight-saving K-Series contactors manage high-current across rugged environments where reliability is paramount.
“Achieving VG certification for the K-Series contactors underscores TE’s commitment to supporting mission-critical applications with reliable technologies,” said Jose Muniz, Product Manager. “Our VG-approved solutions provide confidence for our customers’ critical system designs across diverse industry applications.”
The K-Series contactors meet the mechanical shock, vibration, temperature and electrical requirements outlined in the VG96928 specification. Features include economized coils, auxiliary contacts, busbar connectivity for heat dissipation, and a small footprint enabling dense packaging.
TE’s HARTMAN K-Series contactors are designed for continuous and start duty applications in direct current (DC) power distribution systems. The qualification covers test criteria from normal operating ranges to abnormal conditions, demonstrating the contactors’ robustness. K-Series contactors are available through TE’s channel partners.
