From a long-term perspective, the development process of Micro fuses is mainly a new variety derived to meet market demand. Fuses protect the circuit by fusing themselves with the Joule heat of the current flowing through the body of a fusible metal, thereby cutting off the circuit.

  

In the second half of the 19th century, fuses emerged with the invention of various electrical equipment led by electric lights. Since then, the structural form of fuses has remained unchanged and has continued to this day. We often see things like glass tube fuses and chip fuses in cars. As a protective component of electronic devices, glass tube fuses have been used for a long time. However, due to their large size, easy breakage, and inability to achieve automated installation, the demand for miniature fuses in the industry is becoming increasingly high.

  

The main purpose of traditional fuses is to protect the input part of the power supply. Nowadays, there have been some changes in the situation, and many new uses have been derived from fuses, such as the protection of internal printed boards and ICs in equipment, and the protection of input and output circuits. This has also led to an increasing use of micro fuses year by year. At present, there are countless types of miniature fuses available on the market, ranging from lead type to size 1005.

  

In practical applications, selecting fuses based solely on UL specifications is not enough. Any special requirements and issues regarding installation conditions, chemical resistance, ultrasonic cleaning resistance, and other aspects of micro fuses must be confirmed in advance through the manufacturer.

  

Micro fuses are different from ordinary electronic components such as chip resistors and chip capacitors. Due to differences in manufacturers, their specifications vary greatly. In addition, actual installation can have a certain impact on the heat dissipation of printed boards and wiring. Therefore, the selection of micro fuses should ultimately be determined by the state of the product.
