With the new release of 242418FP, Fastron added a series of non-shielded chip inductors for power applications. The choke's compact design is reliable and can be used as a low-cost alternative to higher-priced SMD power inductors.

Designed with a ferrite core and enameled copper wire, this inductor provides a high-rated current and a low DCR. The 242418FP series non-shielded SMD chip inductor is available in an inductance range of 0.82µH up to 1000µH with a tolerance of ± 10% or ± 20%. The maximum rated current is 5A. The lead-free terminals are pre-tinned for improved solderability. The operating temperature range of 242418FP is from -40℃ to +150℃, which includes self-heating of the component.

Due to its small size of 6.1 x 6.2 x 4.5mm, the 242418FP series can be used in power applications (e.g. AC/DC converters and DC/DC converters, LED drivers) or filter designs, where either space constraints and/or cost-effectiveness are critical factors. Applications are either in stationary or battery-powered systems.

The 24218FP is available in tape & reel packaging with quantity of 1000 pieces (option -01). As with all FASTRON components, the 242418FP is suitable for lead-free soldering and is RoHS compliant.
