The TMI88221 device is a Stepper Motor Driver used in TV cameras, network cameras, and other low-noise stepper motor applications. TMI88221 has a wide input voltage range of 4V to 20V, can be powered by a DC power supply and single or multi-cell lithium batteries, and supports 1A RMS current (peak current 1A).

Different from traditional chips, TMI88221 built-in micro-stepping algorithm effectively solves the common jitter and noise problems of motor drive and does not require users to set PWM control signals, and only needs to control 2 logic signals to switch 3-speed control modes. On this basis, different speed regulation schemes can be provided according to user needs.

TMI88221 has built-in under-voltage protection and over-temperature protection, which can effectively guarantee the stability of chip work.

TMI88221 adopts the ESOP8 package, external application devices only need 2 chip capacitors and 1 electrolytic capacitor, which greatly saves layout space.
