RENESAS MCU RL78/G22 Achieves World‘s Highest EEMBC ULPMark™-PP Score!
EEMBC (Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium) is a non-profit organization established in 1997 to promote the standardization of benchmarks for embedded systems. Various benchmarks are conducted and provided as data to fairly evaluate the processing performance of multiple manufacturers' products.
The RL78/G22 group has been registered as the new world's highest score in ULPMark-PP (ULPMark-PeripheralProfile), a benchmark for evaluating the energy efficiency of peripheral function circuits built into microcontrollers, beating the score of the RL78/G23 group in the same RL78 family (as of Mar 2023).
The registered RL78/G22 group is a microcontroller with the industry's lowest level of low current consumption at 37.5µA/MHz during CPU operation and 200nA during STOP (holding 4 KB of SRAM), as well as a SNOOZE mode sequencer function that enables a significant reduction in power consumption during intermittent operation. In addition to the highest level of low power consumption performance, the RL78/G22 has abundant capacitive touch channels and more channels in the same package than the RL78/G23.
The evaluation board (Fast Prototyping Board) enables program writing/debugging without additional tools by simply connecting a USB cable, and evaluation kit for capacitive touch evaluation on the RL78/G22, and Smart The RL78/G22 Group offers a full range of development environment and tools for RL78/G22 development, including a Fast Prototyping Board, an evaluation kit for capacitive touch evaluation, and the Smart Configurator, a GUI-based tool for easy design. The RL78/G22 is also compatible with existing RL78 family products and can be seamlessly replaced, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, from home appliances and consumer electronics to industrial equipment.
