The Solution to the Problem
There are many channels that address the mass market and each one has its own unique characteristics. None of these channels can be effectively implemented, however, unless we are offering a solution to a problem that is important to our customers.
Solving technical problems helps get our customers to market faster, reduces their costs and helps them manage risk more effectively.
In order to solve a technical problem for a customer, we need to have system knowledge, hardware, software and tools. That is where Renesas Alliance Partners come in. The combination of our skills exceeds the sum of the parts and allows us to offer something compelling to our customers. We can then utilize the mass market channels to put the solution in front of as many appropriate customers as possible.
There were many compelling solutions on display recently at DevCon. These proved to be among the most popular attractions at the conference. The solutions were comprised of hardware, software, tools and complimentary chips. Invariably, a Renesas MCU was at the heart of the system.
I would like to continue to increase the number of quality solutions that we can create together. These solutions should take advantage of the key differentiating features of the MCUs. I saw energy harvesting solutions that took advantage of the low power consumption of the RL78, and I saw motor control solutions that took advantage of the on-chip motor control hardware of the RX family.
When our partners bring us system solutions, we will endeavor to package these up and use our presence in the mass market to make them successful. We are always on the lookout for solutions to problems that customers are trying to solve. E
