RL78/I1A LED Control Using RL78/I1A
The purpose of this application note is to describe the control method for LED lighting systems using the RL78/I1A microcontroller features.
This document is intended for system engineers who design and develop LED lighting systems and power supply systems.
The target products are as follows:
● 20-pin: R5F1076C.
● 30-pin: R5F107AE, R5F107AC.
● 38-pin: R5F107DE.
This application note describes a sample program that controls high brightness LEDs by using the RL78/I1A microcontroller. This sample program uses a constant current control technique to control three LEDs independently, and supports individual dimming by using variable resistors.
Feedback processing during constant current control is based on the proportional-integral (PI) method.
This program can be evaluated using the RL78/I1A DC/DC LED Control Evaluation Board (EZ-0012). See the circuit diagram for the pin configuration on the RL78/I1A DC/DC LED control board.
