The product is a pressure-sensitive tape using ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW) film and a strong permanent acrylic adhesive. The UHMW film provides an excellent low-friction, non-stick surface, similar to polytetrafluoroethylene in many aspects. The film has very high tensile strength and is very tough and wear-resistant. The tape has two main applications in the automotive and mechanical fields, including GM, Ford, and Daimler Chrysler's automotive testing, as well as mechanical applications such as hopper liners, wear pads, and guides.
