CVI是一款完全可定制的视频输入控制器IP核。该视频输入控制器适用于例如FPGA系统，具有资源优化、应用特定功能配置，或者适用于应用更通用功能集的ASIC项目，从而提供更多灵活性。CVI的主要功能是从物理视频输入接口（例如LVDS PHY或视频ADC）读取ITU-656视频输入流，并通过DMA将视频数据以RGB格式写入内存。可以在视频数据上应用多种即时操作，如裁剪、缩放、颜色转换、伽玛校正、抖动和去隔行。CVI基于高度模块化的架构，提供了一系列功能。目标功能集在综合时可配置，允许针对目标应用进行最佳定制解决方案：不需要的功能和相关模块不会综合，从而减少资源使用（FPGA逻辑元素或ASIC门）和功耗。
