LD3301-X 1 and 2-Channel 5V or 3.3V GMR Head Preamplifier

LD3301-1, LD3301-2 are BiCMOS devices supporting 1 channel (2 channels) GMR preamplifiers, designed to be used with 4 terminal GMR recording heads. They provide low noise GMR head amplifiers, GMR bias current control, thin film write driver, write current control, thermal asperity detection and correction. The chip can be programmed for fast recovery mode to enter read mode faster from any other existing mode. The device can be programmed for read gain, GMR resistance measurement, and thermal asperity threshold level. The device allows for multi-channel write functionality for servo writing. In servo write mode, half or all heads can be selected simultaneously. Functions and thresholds are controlled via a serial port interface. The product requires +3.3V or +5V supply voltage. The product is available in flip chip or TSSOP packaging.
