The Model SSD120-(XX)N-RS5 by Trans-Cal Industries, Inc. is a solid-state altitude encoder/digitizer designed to drive up to five RS-232 compliant altitude data outputs. It offers a fan-out capability for multiple RS-232 devices, addressing the limitation of RS-232's single receiver per driver. The device uses a small footprint "nano" package and provides five RS-232 compliant altitude data ports. It features a simple and robust transmission of serial altitude data to multiple aircraft systems, with configurable RS-232 ports and a standard ICAO pressure altitude port. The SSD120-(XX)N-RS5 is FAA TSO-C88a and EASA ETSO-C88a approved, tested to conform to MIL-STD-704E and RTCA DO-160E standards, and operates within a wide voltage and temperature range.
