Cooperation request to vendors for eliminating harmful chemicals from products Green Procurement Standard for Production Materials
■With the purpose to achieve “reduction and elimination of harmful chemicals” in products as stipulated in the environmental policy, NIDEC COMPONENTS CORPORATION has promoted its activities to prioritize procurement of production materials with less environmental impact by establishing the framework to investigate the status of harmful chemical inclusion in the production materials. In global trends where laws and regulations related to harmful chemicals such as RoHS Directive have been announced and enforced in various countries and regions, improvement/establishment of more stringent environmental assurance framework are requested to prohibit inclusion of banned substances in the products.
■Having such a situation as background, NIDEC COMPONENTS CORPORATION will continue to promote its Green Procurement related to the production materials, an important policy in improving/establishing the environmental assurance framework, supported by further cooperation of the vendors. To promote this initiative, NIDEC COMPONENTS CORPORATION will create “Green Procurement Standard for Production Materials” to radically eliminate the harmful chemicals from its products.
■The Green Procurement related to the production materials cannot be achieved without support and cooperation of vendors who supply production materials to us. Therefore, we would ask your kind cooperation and understanding in promoting this initiative.
●Application scope
■The scope of application of this Standard is the entire production materials comprising the products of NIDEC COMPONENTS CORPORATION
