Standex-Meder manufactures a wide variety of products used in security and fire detection/suppression systems. We are a world leader in the manufacture of magnetic reed switches for security and fire detection systems, as well as wound magnetics including custom transformers.
Reed Switches are broadly applied in the security industry to monitor door and window position and are also used in glass break detection applications, all important in building perimeter protection. In fire detection systems Reed Switches are used in smoke detector test circuits. In reed relays, Reed Switches are applied in many security and fire detection control modules.
Our unique production processes yield Reed Switches with very tight magnetic, mechanical and electrical properties. This allows us toprovide very tight ranges of magnetic sensitivity (AT) with a minimal impact on material cost. In depth application assistance is available worldwide.
Many applications for Reed Switches in the security marketplace require value added reed switch assemblies such as molded SMT packages as assembly of these systems becomes more automated.
Our wound magnetic product lines contain many custom transformer products with agency registrations required by this industry. Typical applications for wound transformers include power supply applications in fire and security control panels. These applications include control panels and control panel enclosures for CCTV cameras as well as building entry systems.
