■Definition of an Operator Interface Terminal (OIT)
▲Maple Systems MAP Family Operator Interface Terminals are designed to provide the man-machine interface between an operator and one of the many PLCs on the market.Conventional switches, buttons, and displays are replaced with a single, compact unit called the OIT. OITs are much more flexible and user-friendly than switches and buttons, and can be made to perform a number of tasks:
◆turn PLC relay coils on or off
◆read and write to PLC registers and coils
◆sound and display alarms
◆display messages
◆allow the operator to affect the operating conditions of the control system by changing data stored in the PLC.
