■The MAP320D OITs can be configured as simple ASCII terminals for communicating with many ASCII compatible controllers. They support both RS-232 and RS-422/485 communications, and for applications that require multiple OITs they support multi-drop networks of up to 255 units. The 2-lineby 40-character displays on these industrial ASCII terminals can be configured to display text messages from the controller or the 500 user-defined messages that are stored in the OIT. Each key on the OIT can be programmed to simulate momentary or on/off switches by sending ASCII character strings of up to 40-characters to the host controller. In addition, these ASCII character strings or alternate user-defined messages can be displayed on the OIT.
