CLEANING AND DISINFECTION PROCEDURE FOR SCBA FACEPIECE AND LOW PRESSURE HOSE Technical Bulletin
●Rinse in warm water to remove loose ash, dirt, soot, etc.
●Carefully wash in basin using warm (120º140ºF) solution of mild household detergent. A soft nylon or natural bristle brush may be used to scrub heavily soiled areas. Use caution not to scratch the facepiece lens.
●Rinse the facepiece in fresh warm water.
●Immerse the facepiece in a suitable disinfecting solution for two to four minutes. The disinfecting bath should be maintained at a temperature of 120º140ºF.
●Rinse the facepiece thoroughly in fresh warm water.
●Hang the facepiece up to dry where it will be sheltered from dust. Warmed, forced air may be used to speed drying as long as the air temperature does not exceed 120ºF.
