Si7005 & Si7015 filter cover change
●Description of Change:
Silicon Labs is pleased to announce the successful qualification of an additional supplier of the protective cover available for the Si7005/15 products. The new protective cover supplier offers the same relative humidity sensor performance as the current supplier and both protective covers are IP67 certified.
As a result of this change, the datasheets for Si7005/15 have been updated as follows:
- The package outline for devices with protective cover was updated to include slightly differentdimensions of the new protective cover, dimensions F1 and F2.
- Section 4.8 was updated to only indicate specifications that are common to both suppliers of the protective cover.
The supplier of protective cover can be identified by a new marking on the shipping label. Devices with the original protective cover supplier are marked as "INT". Devices with the new protective cover supplier are marked as "EXT". Sample shipping labels are shown below with the new label marking indicated by a red circle.
As of the effective date of the PCN, Silicon Labs will ship devices with protective covers from either supplier. Shipments with the new label marking will be available as of the effective date of the PCN.
●Reason for Change:
Increase assembly capacity and ensure dual sourcing.
●Impact on Form, Fit, Function, Quality, Reliability:
No change to fit, function, quality or reliability. The form of Si7005/15 devices is changed to include a new supplier of the protective cover, which has slightly different Z-axis dimensions F1 and F2 as indicated in the datasheet.
