PA-9 SWITCHGEAR Application Guide
●Repeated lower magnitude application of transients to switch gear can cause slow degradation and eventual insulation failure, decreasing equipment mean time between failures. An increase in voltage (Swells) applied to switchgear may cause reduced equipment life over time.
●Common Causes of transients include lightning, load switching, capacitor switching and loose wiring/arcing
●Common Causes of Swells include source voltage variations and reductions in load.
