OptoLyzer Components Application Note
Formerly the OptoControl was connected over RS232 to an OptoLyzer Interface Box V4/V5. Then the COM port has to be assigned via the property ComPort. Because an OptoLyzer OL3xxx is connected via Ethernet you need to create a “virtual COM port” via the OptoLyzer Detector software to connect to the OptoControl. Alternatively you can also use the new property ConnectionString to set the "virtual COM port" (see OptoControl API documentation).
Figure 3-1 shows an example how an OptoControl can open an OptoLyzer OL3025o at IP address 170.129.232.184 if connected to a virtual COM port 2.
