SMART Modular Technologies Announces Next Generation of PCIe NVMe SSD
SMART, a division of SGH (Nasdaq: SGH) and a global leader in-memory solutions, solid-state drive (SSD), and hybrid storage products announces the DuraFlash™ MP3000 portfolio of PCIe NVMe products, which includes M.2 2280, M.2 22110 and E1.S form factors. These SSDs are available in both industrial and commercial temperature grades, with versions that implement SMART's SafeDATA™ power-loss, and data-protection technology to ensure adept handling of power fluctuations and sudden power loss events.
"We are excited to announce this new series of DuraFlash PCIe NVMe SSD products, which will enable our customers to take advantage of next-gen PCIe Gen 4 x4 compatibility," said Victor Tsai, SMART's Director of Flash products. "Available in three form factors, SMART's MP3000 line provides options for server and client platforms in both industrial and enterprise environments with capacities ranging from 240GigaBytes to 1920GigaBytes."
The MP3000 offers speeds up to 3500MB/s Sequential Read and 2000MB/s Sequential Writes. It is compliant with NVMe v1.4 specification with supported enterprise SSD features such as Namespace Management (up to 16 namespaces), out-of-band NVMe Management Interface (NVMe-MI), and 512-bytes and 4096-bytes LBA formats.
For Enterprise environments, the MP3000 series meets endurance requirements of up to 1 Drive Write per Day (DWPD) of Enterprise workloads as defined by JEDEC. The MP3000 series is also offered in extended life cycle versions for industrial applications that need longer availability. Since power loss is a key concern in most applications, the MP3000 also comes with the SafeDATA™ system, SMART Modular's power-loss data protection system that includes specialized hardware circuitry and algorithms for securely protecting in-flight data during a power loss or power fluctuation scenarios. The MP3000 series products are Self-Encrypting Drives (SEDs) supporting advanced security features that include Secure Boot with PKI-based firmware authenticity verification and the latest Trusted Computing Groups (TCG) Opal 2.01 standard with AES-XTS 256 data encryption.
SMART Modular builds upon its decades of experience in supporting demanding environments -- in networking, telecommunications, factory automation, military, and industrial -- to bring a solution such as the DuraFlash MP3000 portfolio that meets all of the latest industry standards for performance, security, and power-loss protection.
