Epson New SPXO SG-8201CJA: Low jitter, High Stability, Small Size and Programmable Designed for ADAS Applications,Automotive AEC-Q100 Compliant, 125 ℃ Operation
SG-8201CJA: Automotive AEC-Q100 Compliant, 125℃ Operation. The SG-8201CJA is designed for ADAS applications such as radar, LiDAR, camera, and high-speed ethernet where low jitter and high precision reference clocks are critical.
With output frequencies up to 170 MHz, it is suitable for high radio frequency and high-speed operations required by these advanced automotive systems. Furthermore, utilizing EPSON's in-house low noise fractional-N PLL, the phase jitter is only 1.1 ps typ. and stability is <25 ppm up to 125℃.
The small package size of 2.0 × 1.6 mm enables crucial space savings as automotive real estate is becoming increasingly limited with the myriad of sensors.
This Programmable crystal oscillator is available with a quick turn-around time, perfect for your product development to mass production.
SG-8201CJA Applications (Examples)
SG-8201CJA Enables ADAS
Automotive Oscillator SG-8201CJA Key Features
- Automotive-grade quality AEC-Q100 compliant
High automotive quality standard in all processes. (e.g. Design, Manufacturing, Process Control)
- High-frequency stability under a high-temperature condition up to 125 ℃
This product achieves high-frequency stability
Note:
25 ppm max during the temperature range from -40℃ to 125℃ due to IC's temperature compensation function
Frequency stability includes initial frequency tolerance, temperature variation, supply voltage variation, reflow drift,
load drift and aging (+25℃, 1 year).
- Achieve low jitter performance compared with our existing product
Achieve 1.1 ps typical phase jitter (12 kHz to 20 MHz) by utilizing Epson’s new in-house IC (in case of 125 MHz)
- Enable to output any frequency up to 170 MHz by programmable technology
SG-8201CJA can output any frequency in the range of 1.2 MHz to 170 MHz
- 2.0 x 1.6 mm small size
SG-8201CJA Contribution to Automotive Applications
1. High-frequency stability under a wide temperature range by temperature compensation function
Compared with existing SPXO SG-8101CGA, this product can adjust the temperature variation up to +125℃ and has high stability characteristics over a wide temperature range. SG-8201CJA can achieve stable frequency tolerance even under tough temperature conditions (-40℃ to +125℃) which is required by various automotive applications.
■ SG-8201CJA (±25 x 10-6/-40 to +125℃) vs SG-8101CGA (±20 x 10-6/-40 to +105℃)
2. Low jitter by improving in-house IC performance
Compared with existing SPXO SG-8101CGA, phase noise is improved by about 30 dBc/Hz at offset frequency from 100 kHz to 1 MHz, and phase jitter is reduced to about 1/40. SG-8201CJA achieves lower jitter by reducing noise levels. It can contribute to the improvement of sensor detection range and resolution.
3. High output frequency by PLL technology
Internal PLL technology enables programming any frequency up to 170 MHz by multiplying the internal crystal’s frequency. SG-8201CJA can support high-speed telecommunication which requires higher output frequency.
