Shindengen Announces a Launch of High Current, High Withstand Voltage Bridge Diodes with a 60% Increase in Rated Current

Shindengen Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has begun sales of the D40XB100 bridge diodes for air conditioners and other home electronics white goods.


The D40XB100 is a bridge diode with a rated current of 40A and withstand voltage of 1000V. Population growth and rapid economic development in developing countries are expected to triple the number of air conditioners installed worldwide by 2050. In response to this increased demand, air conditioners are required to have high heating and cooling capacity and a variety of additional functions, and are becoming higher powered. As such, there is also demand for bridge diodes to have higher current capacities.


To satisfy these needs, the D40XB100 has achieved a 60% increase over existing products in rated current to 40A through revision of the internal structure of the 1000V bridge diodes which have been available up until now. The new product uses a 5S GEN2 structure in the same external package as the 5S, which has been used in numerous applications in the market and has earned a reputation for high quality, to improve package heat dissipation and reduced terminal temperature. These features can contribute to a higher power for air conditioners and other home electronics white goods.


Sales of this product are expected to begin in February 2023.
