This innovation is designed for access (passive keyless entry), general RFID-LF access, RTLS applications, and Car2Car communications.

PREMO, releases the New KGEA-AF-Series of long-range and ultra-long-range flexible antennas, providing up to 5 times more H-field than standard antennas up to 2.5 times the mid-range one.

Passive keyless entry (PKE) is one of the available technologies for automotive security systems. When a trigger event occurs, such as approaching the car or touching the door handle, a low-powered LF wake-up signal is transmitted to the key fob by the emitter antenna.

The keyfob sends an ultra-high frequency (UHF) identification response back to the car. Once the mutual authentication has been executed, the car door opens.

Most cars that carry this system come equipped with several emitter antennae that create an isotropic field around the vehicle. Trunk-Bumper Antenna, Installed in the back, Dorr Handle Antennas, Installed on the sides of the cars, Interior Antennas to be installed inside the car, Trunk-Bumper & Door Handler Antenna, Installed in the back and door handle antenna, and Immobilizer antenna fitted onto the ignition lock.

One of the advantages of the Long Range Emitter Antenna is that fewer antennae are needed to create a robust isotropic field around the vehicle, allowing for a more cost-effective way to bring convenience to customers.

The R&D team at Premo has introduced a new concept of long-range emitter antennas by using patented materials and design, that allows for a longer antennae build without sacrificing its performance under challenging environmental conditions.

The Alma™ Core Technology for Car Keyless Entry Systems saves installation, cables, electronic drivers and reduces component count with savings per vehicle over 100 USD. The product is designed to be flexible and unbreakable thanks to a combination of Solid Echelons, Polymer Bonded magnetics, and High Magnetic Permeability nanowires.

These flexible core antennas typically meet the AEC-Q200 (specific automotive quality standard) and waterproof specs from IP54 to IP69K.

Most of the LF antennas in the market have a length of 70-80mm for the standard range, 150-170mm for mid-range, 250-350mm for long-range, and 500-700mm for Ultra-Long-Range (AlmaTM core).

The new design is longer than the standard 120mm door handle, with a length ranging from 300-500mm. The part is fully covered by thermoplastics in 1 step to avoid water ingress, matching the IP degree provided by a wide range of connectors that are used. The long-range antenna has been designed to reduce the number of antennas placed on the vehicle, with an equal or better H-Field, reading distance, and overall performance. Its shock absorption mechanical capabilities, waterproof grade, and electrical performance stability are all state of the art.

The Long Range Antenna family from Premo creates a magnetic field above 6 meters, with a robust build, at a low price. Depending on the circuit, all antennae can be built with or without a capacitor, and with or without a resistor. This Long Range Emitter Antenna is fully customized to customer requirements.

A wide range of values in the catalog of KGEA-AF-Series and under demand, from 100uH to 500uH, for 20kHz, 125kHz, and 134.2kHz (with or without capacitor and resistors inside, under demand).
