Shindengen Launched Schottky Barrier Diodes with 99% Leakage Current Reduction, Contributing to Reduction of Power Loss and Miniaturization of Automotive ECUs
Shindengen Electric Manufacturing has launched the SLSBD series of Schottky barrier diodes for automotive applications.
In recent years, the ECUs of environmentally-friendly vehicles (xEVs), which are rapidly becoming more popular, are equipped with a large number of Schottky barrier diodes (hereinafter referred to as SBDs). However, in environments with high operating temperatures such as automotive ECUs, SBDs are prone to thermal runaway due to leakage current, which hinders product miniaturization and lower losses. In addition, in automotive products, where noise regulations are strict, SBDs mounted on ECUs are also required to be low-noise. To meet these needs, Shindengen Electric Manufacturing has expanded its SLSBD series lineup. This product reduces leakage current by approximately 99%※1 compared to our conventional products and suppresses thermal runaway, contributing to lower loss and miniaturization of automotive ECUs. Furthermore, IRP and VRP are reduced by 20%※2 and 40%※2, respectively, to meet the need for low noise.
