Modular Battery Different than Ordinary Battery
This article is a sharing from a residential user.
My phone battery recently went bad and I have been looking everywhere to try to find the best battery options to replace it with.
To give you a bit of background, I have been using my phone a lot more than ever before over the last year or so. I started driving for a rideshare company and their app always has to be open when I am working, which uses a lot of power. Because the app was so dependent on the battery in my cell phone, I had to always have my phone plugged into the charging cable. I did not know that if your phone is constantly charging, especially after the battery has been fully charged, it actually starts to degrade your battery. I started to notice that whenever my phone was not plugged into the charger, the battery would die more quickly.
As time went on, my phone eventually got to the point where it would just randomly die, even if the power meter said that I still had forty percent or thirty percent battery remaining. I started to become frustrated because my phone would start dying at the worst possible moments and it was causing me to miss important phone calls, or to be unable to view my navigation software when I was trying to drive somewhere. So, because of all of these problems with my phone battery, I knew it was time to search for a solution. This is where another problem came up, and that was that I did not really know which company to choose, and what type of battery I should get to be able to handle the high power demands of my general cell phone usage. I had questions about what type of battery to purchase and also wondered which battery would work the best for someone who is constantly using their phone.
After doing a bit of research, I discovered that I have a choice between getting a Modular Battery, or a custom battery, and I really needed to learn more about these different battery types to be able to make a well informed decision. After all, we live in a time where we really depend on our phones in ways we probably never would have imagined even ten short years ago. Before I started to do deeper research on the different types of batteries that were offered, I had to think about what it was that I wanted in a battery. For one, I realized that I needed a battery that could hold its power for an extended period of time, so that if I left my phone unplugged for a while, I would not have to worry about running out of power. I also needed to make sure that the battery I chose would be able to maintain a high power reserve, even if I was continuously using applications that needed a lot of processing power.
If an application on your cell phone uses a lot of random access memory, and has a lot of processing needs because of its complexity, you need a battery that can power those resources effectively without the power reserve draining too quickly. One great example of the types of programs that place a high strain on the cell phone batteries are gaming applications. Because they utilize a lot of high resolution graphics, as well as motion graphics and sound effects, gaming applications place an extremely high demand on both your phone's processor and the battery. So, I realized after doing more research that a modular battery was not the best for my cell phone, but rather a better option for a car battery, or other applications where you would need something that can provide a higher voltage. The modular battery is also good for off-grid power, and can really be a great way to store power generated by solar panels. You can connect the modular batteries in series or in parallel to increase the capacity or the voltage.
These are an excellent choice if you go camping and wish to have a power storage solution for your RV. The modular batteries are also the perfect solution for marine applications, like powering the electrical system on your boat or yacht. The company Grepow also offers modular battery solutions that can work well for emergency applications in major infrastructure environments. An example of this might be a stretch of bridge that may need an emergency power supply to kick in in the event of an outage. You can scale their modular batteries to power up all of the street lights along a bridge if needed. These solutions are really great for a variety of needs across all industries, and can work for consumers as well as commercial applications. However, for my cell phone and smartwatch, I realized I needed another option.
Thankfully, I was able to find out about the custom battery solutions that Grepow offers. First of all, you can customize the size and shape of your battery to fit the device perfectly. This also works great for anyone who is designing a new electronic device and is have trouble finding a portable power solution to fit their specific needs. You can also choose what temperature conditions you need the battery to be able to function under. If you need a battery that will work at temperatures below freezing, they can create a solution for you that will maintain its charge a power capacity in the most extreme of weather conditions. They can even help you design a battery to specifications as detailed as the discharge current that you desire. On top of all of that, you can customize your BMS functions, such as communication functions, charge management, discharge management, and other functions, like self-heating for operation at low temperatures. I have to say that with all of the options available on the Grepow website, I was not only able to determine the best solution for my specific device, but also realized I could use their products and services for all of my battery applications going forward.
