On February 27, MEIG officially launched the 5G RedCap series FWA solution at the 2024 World Mobile Communications Conference. This series of solutions has the advantages of low power consumption and low cost, which can significantly reduce the complexity of 5G applications, quickly implement 5G network access, and improve the economic benefits of FWA deployment.

RedCap technology has brought about a reduction in 5G application costs. Although FWA based on RedCap has a certain degree of performance tailoring, it still inherits key 5G capabilities such as URLLC, network slicing, edge computing, and 5G LAN. Compared with 4G LTE, its advantages are more prominent. Many home, office and industrial interconnection scenarios where FWA is applied do not have such high-speed requirements. 5G RedCap standard products have become a new choice for users because of their high-cost performance and low power consumption.

MeiG 5G RedCap module SRM813Q is based on Qualcomm Snapdragon® X35 5G modem and radio frequency system. It complies with the 3GPP R17 standard and has significant advantages such as lightweight, small-size design, and high-cost performance. Supports flexible 64QAM/256QAM (optional) modulation mode, with the downlink peak rate of up to 220Mbps and the uplink peak rate over 100Mbps. In addition, the SRM813Q series modules also significantly reduce application costs by optimizing the number of antennas. Its rich functional interfaces provide great convenience for peripheral expansion, perfectly meeting various application needs in high-speed scenarios in IoT.

At this exhibition, MeiG demonstrated three 5G RedCap series FWA solutions based on the 5G RedCap module SRM813Q, which are 5G CPE solution SRT835, 5G MiFi solution SRT875R and 5G ODU solution SRT835R.

5G RedCap CPE solution SRT835 is based on MeiG 5G RedCap module SRM813Q, adopts the WCN6856 high-speed Wi-Fi 6 solution, supports 5G NR Sub-6GHz, and complies with the 3GPP Release 17 standards and protocols. In the Sub-6GHz frequency band, the maximum bandwidth can reach 20MHz, the maximum rate can reach 220Mbps, and it has good data transmission capabilities. The solution supports 2.4G/5G dual-band Wi-Fi and supports multiple user access at the same time, greatly improving network throughput and efficiency.

5G RedCap MiFi solution SRT875R is equipped with the Snapdragon X35 platform, supports 5G independent networking (SA), and is backward compatible with 4G networks. Supports Wi-Fi 6 connection, supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz dual-band concurrency and is equipped with 2*2 MIMO antennas. The maximum downlink rate can reach 220Mbps and the maximum uplink rate can reach 100Mbps. It can provide high-speed, stable and reliable connections and has the advantage of high cost performance.

5G RedCap ODU solution SRT853R was also released this time. This solution complies with the 3GPP Release17 standard and is equipped with a 1G network port with POE function. One network cable can solve the power supply and data transmission needs at the same time, making it convenient for users to install and maintain. The equipment has IP65 protection level, strict waterproof and dustproof design, and adapts to the requirements of outdoor deployment environment.

In the future, MeiG will continue to enhance its research and development capabilities in 5G application innovation, deeply explore the needs of vertical industries, and actively promote the construction of the RedCap ecosystem and the widespread application and implementation of RedCap commercial terminals. MEIG will work closely with our partners to create a more prosperous and dynamic new future for 5G IoT and inject new momentum into the development of the industry.
