Power management and video/audio interface IC leader Kinetic Technologies announced the latest product in their market leading wireless power portfolio, the KTE7800. This device targets low power devices such as earbud charging cases, computer mice, personal care products, and IoT devices that use low- to medium capacity lithium-ion batteries. The KTE7800 features a fully integrated Wireless Power Receiver and battery charger and has been optimized for small coil designs. It is one of the most robust, flexible, and highly integrated wireless power products in the market today.

The KTE7800 is architected to support an exceptionally wide range of applications. A powerful microcontroller is coupled with an extensive analog and digital framework, supporting DC output, including 5V, and multiple options for alternative battery chemistries. Further, a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter enables precise measurements of operational parameters in addition to supporting five multi-functional general-purpose input/output (GPIO) pins. Programmability is designed for the device with ROM/RAM/OTP internal memory as well as optional access via the I2C interface.

"The KTE7800 expands our market-leading wireless power portfolio and offers optimized solutions for customers designing small, low power devices, such as wireless earbud charging cases, said Erik Ogren, Kinetic Technologies Senior Director of Marketing. The extremely high level of integration, coupled with flexible programming options, can provide customers with the opportunity to tailor system performance to the individual requirements of their products while minimizing board space and providing robust protection."

The KTE7800 is supplied with firmware that is compliant with the WPC/Qi v1.3 Baseline Power Profile (BPP) standard and JEITA compliant battery charging. It is packaged in a 5mm x 5mm 24-pin QFN package.
