The circuit protection of PEPS smart keys mainly includes the following aspects:

1、Power management unit protection

The PEPS smart key is mainly powered by batteries (such as CR2302). When the environment changes, there may be a surge impact on the power supply terminal of the main control IC. It is recommended to use YINT Electronics transient suppression diode TVS SMF5.0CA for surge protection.

2、Button unit protection

The PEPS smart key retains the traditional RKE button unit, which is in line with the habits of many people. Figure 2 shows the circuit protection scheme that retains the unlock, lock, and trunk buttons. The button unit circuit may generate electromagnetic disturbances such as static electricity when the button is pressed, released, or detected by the human body, which is transmitted to the I/O port of the main control IC and affects the normal operation of the main control IC. At the TVS2/TVS3/TVS4 position between the button and the I/O port of the IC, Yint Electronics recommends using the electrostatic protection device YINT ESD5V0D5B, SOD523 small package to protect the button unit circuit.

3、LF low frequency receiving module protection

The PEPS smart key is equipped with a low-frequency LF receiving module and a low-frequency antenna. It is recommended to use Yite Electronics' ultra-small package SOD923 or SOD882 packaged electrostatic protection devices ESD5V0D9B and ESD5V0D8B to protect the low-frequency receiving module from static electricity.

4、RF radio frequency transmitting module protection

Similar to the high-frequency information-receiving module of the PEPS base station, the PEPS smart key also requires electrostatic protection. Considering the space of the key, it is recommended to use Yint Electronics' ultra-low capacitance <1pF, ultra-small package SOD923 or SOD882 electrostatic protection device (such as ESDULC5V0D8B, SOD882,0.5pF) for circuit design.
