[Intelligent Transportation Summit, Tel Aviv, Israel, October 28, 2019] –Newsight Imaging, a leading 3D depth sensor chip manufacturer, announced the launch of its first area sensor chip NSI1000, which is changing machine vision, automotive, and industrial machine vision applications.


Samples of this chip were available at the end of 2019 and are designed to support high-volume and high-performance applications. Newsight Imaging has begun to work with specific automotive application customers (advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), driver monitoring systems (DMS), multi-channel lidar for smart rearview mirrors), and other high-volume applications that require accurate 3D face recognition cooperating. The NSI1000 chip has a performance of up to 50,000 frames per second (online resolution) and fully supports Newsight Imaging’s enhanced time-of-flight (eTOF™) technology, which enables customers to use low-power eye safety lasers with a resolution of 1024X32 pixels, A multi-triangulation option also supports line triangulation with a resolution of up to 2048 pixels. The chip is a complete system, including 10-bit A2D and Newsight hardware implementation functions, such as automatic exposure and integrated peak detection hardware circuits. The chip can work frame by frame in different modes and can be easily converted from a rangefinder to a conventional camera or dynamically converted to an illumination sensor mode through software programming.
