Standex-meder Flood Prevention Switches For Hvac Applications, Safeguard Hvac/r Environments From Condensate Overflow Buildup
Standex Electronics, a global manufacturer of reed switches, sensors, relays, and magnetics, announced its line of Flood Prevention Switches (FPS), which safeguard HVAC/R environments from condensate overflow buildup. These low-voltage switches are ideal for commercial and residential HVAC/R applications. With tee, elbow, and bracket models available with multiple fittings to accommodate any application, each FPS model is simple to install, easy to service, and extremely reliable.
At the heart of this proven technology is an integral magnetic reed switch from Standex Electronics, the world leader in magnetic reed switch design and manufacture. If a clogged air conditioning condensate drain causes the water level in the main or auxiliary drain pipe to rise, the FPS shuts off the system, preventing any possible overflow that could damage floors, walls, and ceilings.
Compliant with UL508 and applicable NEC codes, and manufactured of materials that will not rust or stick, the FPS operates smoothly and reliably every time. The switches are easy to install on either primary or auxiliary drain plugs and are easily accessible for service. The flexible switch is available in red-wire or yellow-wire connection options.
Capabilities & Solutions – HVAC/R Flood Prevention Switches
Standex Electronics Flood Prevention Switches are simple to install, easy to service, and extremely reliable. As the water level in the auxiliary or main drain pipe rises (due to a clogged air conditioning condensate drain) the switch shuts off the system, thus preventing water from overflowing, causing damage to floors, walls, and ceilings.
