The Development of High-Voltage Connectors
The development of high-voltage connectors for electric vehicles is synchronized with that of electric vehicles. From the perspective of connectors, the development of domestic electric vehicle connectors has experienced the following generations:
1. Next-generation high-voltage connector: since 2008, it has been mainly changed by the industrial connector at that time. This generation of products is characterized by a metal shell, no high-voltage interlock function, and poor effect of preventing misinsertion. Representative products include Amphenol HV series metal connectors. Many connectors in the market are expanded based on such products.
2. The second generation of high-voltage connectors adds a high-voltage interlock function on the basis of the first generation. The high-voltage interlock connector is composed of a plug wrench with a clamping slot, a secondary lock with a guide slot, and a high-voltage interlock micro switch. The shell of the connector has also changed from metal to plastic.
3.Third generation high voltage connector, plastic + shielding function + high voltage connector. The representative products are industry 800 series products (this product realizes part of the secondary unlocking function through the operation sequence, rather than the direct mechanical structure).
4. Fourth generation high voltage connector, plastic + shielding function+high voltage interlock + secondary unlocking high voltage connector. The representative industry 280 series products, such as the next-generation products in China, realize the secondary unlocking function through the mechanical structure, which is safer.
5. The future generation of high-voltage connectors will learn from the cooling methods of the fourth-generation products, such as liquid cooling and high-power charging belt. Air cooling can effectively improve the transmission energy density, reduce the quality and improve the comprehensive performance of products.
