As governments around the world pass stronger emission standards, the demand for hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs) continues to grow. This trend, in turn, leads to the rapid increase in the use of large gauge wire and cables.

 

Therefore, proper protection of medium to high-voltage cables and connections requires a high-performing, highly-engineered solution. TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and electronic components, introduces the new EV Single Wall tubing (EVSW tubing) specifically designed for high voltage applications and safely insulates and protects conductive components and cables.

 

TE’s new EVSW heat shrink tubing is a single wall tube with the prime focus of providing electrical insulation and protection for high-voltage components in electric vehicles.

 

EVSW is a flame retardant tubing orange in color  (RAL 2003) enabling fast identification, VOLINSU tubing is available in sizes designed to work with the cable and component sizes being used in the power train of electric vehicles.  It is made from a modified Polyolefin material which means it is semi-flexible and easy to install using already available tooling.
