Tempo Communications Splice on Connector (SOC)

2025-03-20
The Tempo Communications Splice on Connector (SOC) is a low loss, low reflectivity termination designed for use in FTT(x) and P2P networks. It eliminates the need for a splice tray, promoting a cleaner and more orderly installation. The SOC features easy determination of fiber lengths, preventing over-cutting or under-cutting of field fibers. The fusion splice protector is located in the flexible strain relief/boot, which also prevents accidental violation of the minimum bend radius of the fiber, reducing the risk of Macrobends. The extended boot allows for up to three splicing attempts, which can be reused if the splicing process fails. The Tempo Communications SOC is compatible with any manufacturer's fusion splicer without requiring special adapters or fixtures, and no specialized training is needed. It consists of only three parts, making the termination process simpler and faster. The SOC outperforms mechanical connectors with its low reflectivity and low insertion loss performance, ensuring that spliced fibers do not cause high loss at the connection point.
