TG-8100/8600 series gyrocompasses are an upgraded version of Tokyo Keiki's previous TG model, already installed on approximately 27,000 vessels, maintaining their high reliability, enhanced tracking performance, and interface functions. The TG-8000 series is suitable for standard IMO ship applications, while the TG-8600 is suitable for high-speed vessel applications. This series of gyrocompasses is suitable for speeds up to 70 knots (TG-8600), with a fast tracking rate (up to 75°/s), fast serial data output (IEC61162-2), and can interface with external heading sensors. It also features a space-saving and cost-effective dual compass system, with a start-up timer function, as well as BAMS (Bridge Alarm Management) alert transmission function.
