SEPAP MHE Accelerated Photoaging Test Instrument

2025-03-16
The SEPAP MHE is a specialized test instrument designed for accelerated photoaging of polymers. It aims to understand the aging mechanisms of polymers exposed outdoors and examine the chemical evolution at a molecular level. The instrument uses a mercury vapor lamp to replicate and accelerate the chemical mechanisms responsible for the gradual loss of properties in polymers over their lifetime. It operates in both accelerated and ultra-accelerated modes, controlling irradiance between 90 W/m² and 300 W/m² (290-420 nm). Developed in cooperation with the National Center for the Evaluation of Photoprotection (CNEP) at the University Blaise Pascal, Clermont-Ferrand, France, the SEPAP MHE adheres to various international and French standards for photoaging testing. It features a full-color multi-lingual user interface, precise control of irradiance, Black Standard Temperature (BST), and chamber temperature, and relative humidity control using ultrasonic humidifiers. The SEPAP MHE+ model includes a specimen spray system and an integrated 60-liter water reservoir.
