SureLine® Virtual Radar

2025-03-16
The SureLine® Virtual Radar is a feature designed to convert track data, such as ADS-B or other track data, into radar data. It is an optional feature for Sunhillo’s SureLine products and is deployed in the FAA ADS-B program. The Virtual Radar, known as VR, receives beacon track messages processed by Sunhillo’s SureLine surveillance products and provides the mechanism to define a Service Volume for radar coverage. It is used in conjunction with the VR software, which emulates a radar system based on configuration parameters. The VR software generates various types of radar messages, including Beacon Real Time Quality Control (BRTQC), Sector Mark, North Mark, and South Mark messages, which are used to provide timing for CD-2 messages delivery to other automation systems.
