●The sheathed thermocouples consist of two dissimilar metal wires welded together and embedded in highly compacted magnesium oxide within a stainless steel housing. The measuring point of the thermocouple can be welded to the sheath thus providing a ground connection, or it can be supplied ungrounded and insulated from the sheath.
