3101 Fiber Distribution Module (FDM)
■The 3101 Fiber Distribution Module (FDM) receives a data/clock pair at 0 degree relationship and then encodes the data to a format that is compatible with a singe fiber transmitter. This encoded signal is transmitted out six identical fiber ports. No setup or control is needed for this module.
■All six ports are single-mode transmitters with LC connectors.
■When being received by a compatible card (such as the model 3201), the data and clock are recreated with a delay of one data period + 60-70 nS.
■The 3101 also drives a status signal on the front of the AL3073 chassis. The LED status shows whether data and clock are present. If data and clock are present, the signal will be output on all six fiber transmit ports.
