Spherical Plain BEARINGS
▲Spherical Plain Bearings are produced in many designs and with various combinations of sliding contact surfaces. The basic design is composed of a fractured outer ring of carbon chromium steel which is hardened & phosphated; and an inner ring of the same material. On both, the sliding surfaces are treated with Molybdenum Disulfide (MOS2) to reduce friction. Most designs can be re-lubricated through annular grooves and lubrication holes in the rings. Many designs are also available with a PTFE Composite lined sliding surface, offering a maintenance free solution with lower friction.
