Water detection sensor Fast Facts
■For vehicles with a high demand on battery performance, the batteries can be tempered with a special oil. The presence of a critical amount of water inside the battery must be avoided. Since water in the battery lead to corrosion and thus negatively affects the service life.
■The water detection sensor is part of a sensor set consisting of two level sensors and a temperature sensor. With an additional on-board μ-controller, the battery sensor set can communicate in real time with the battery management system and thus decisively extend the service life of the battery.
