Jowatherm-Reaktant® MR 607.90 Product Information
●One-component, moisture-curing PUR hot melt adhesives have been an established technology in the wood and furniture industry for several decades.
●In general, conventional PUR hot melt adhesives have an excess of free monomer isocyanate (usually 4-4‘-diphenylmethane diisocyanate – short MDI) in the order of approx. 2 %. Since 2012, products containing isocyanate which have a free monomer isocyanate content of 0.1 % or more need to be labelled with the GHS hazard pictogram No. 8 (health hazard) and the relevant safety information (H and P statements). Adhesives with a free monomer isocyanate content below 0.1 % are not subject to labelling restrictions with regard to hazardous substances.
●Jowat has already been working successfully on alternative technologies which are below the limit of 0.1 % since the beginning of the 21st century. The Jowatherm-Reaktant® MR (monomer-reduced) product group from Jowat provides several PUR hot melt adhesives for a wide range of applications which are not classified as hazardous substances.
●Jowatherm-Reaktant® MR 607.90 is an edge-banding adhesive and an established product in this series. The PUR hot melt is suitable for bonding standard edgebands (ABS, PP, PVC, veneer, resinated paper) on throughfeed lines. The white product variant is Jowatherm-Reaktant® MR 607.91.
