ISL94208EVZ Evaluation Board

This document is intended for use by individuals engaged in the development of hardware for a 4- to 6- series connected Li-ion battery pack using the ISL94208EVZ board. The evaluation kit provides full battery pack operation as well as offering the ability to read and write the ISL94208 registers, set thresholds and timer values, read cell voltages, control cell balancing outputs, and control the power FETs.
The kit contains the following components:
• ISL94208EVZ board.
• ISL94208DB1EVZ cell balance daughter board.
• ISL94208DB2EVZ cell balance daughter board.
• GUI software for a PC running Windows XP.
• A power supply interface board for connecting a singlepower source or a battery stack.Operation of the ISL94208EVZ board requires the use of a separate USB to I²C kit, part number “ISLI2C-KIT”.An optional link between the PC and the microcontroller BKGD connector is available from NXP (formerly Freescale) for monitoring and debugging the microcontroller code.
