2023-03-14
●A Wireless Pro Kit with the BRD4271A Radio Board is an excellent starting point to get familiar with the EFR32 Wireless Gecko Wire-less System-on-Chip. It also provides all necessary tools for devel-oping a Silicon Labs wireless application.
■BRD4271A is a plug-in board for the Wireless Starter Kit Mainboard (BRD4001A) andthe Wireless Pro Kit Mainboard (BRD4002A). It is a complete reference design for theEFR32FG25 Wireless SoC, with matching networks for 16 dBm output power and anSMA connector for the 863-870 MHz band
■The mainboards contain an on-board J-Link debugger with a Packet Trace Interface anda Virtual COM port, enabling application development and debugging the attached radioboard as well as external hardware. The mainboards also contain sensors and peripher-als for easy demonstration of some of the EFR32's many capabilities
■One of the available kits contains a Wireless Expansion Board (BRD8016A) that hasbeen designed after the Raspberry Pi Hardware Attached on Top (HAT) board specifica-tion, allowing the BRD4271A Radio Board to connect to a Raspberry Pi.
■This document describes how to use the BRD4271A Radio Board together with a Wire-less Starter Kit Mainboard, with a Wireless Pro Kit Mainboard, or with a Raspberry Pi.
