Circuit Breaker :: Reference Guide
● This refers to the actuator which is the handle that sets the position of the breaker to either the “ON” or “OFF” position. The mid-trip is used in association with alarms. The mid-trip givesthe ability to alarm only on a “tripped” event. This is key to allowing maintenance and/or installation without having an alarm when in the “OFF”position.
● Breakers come in two types. Thermal Magnetic and Magnetic only. The instantaneous trip breakers are a Magnetic only type ofbreaker which means they do not have a thermal requirement totrip. In other words, they trip instantly when a short or fault condition occur.
