Exploring Mitsubishi Elevators & Escalators Around the World

2022-11-03
Ranking among the world's top oil-producing nations, Azerbaijan has shown remarkable economic growth in recent years. Located on the shores of the Caspian Sea—the largest lake in the world—the capital city of Baku is a port city of rare scenic beauty and a destination for a growing number of tourists. The blend of modern architecture and medieval streetscapes creates a magical atmosphere. Located at the center of Baku and soaring above the Old City—the first location in Azerbaijan to be classified as a World Heritage Site, the Flame towers dominate the skyline as the tallest mixed-use high-rises in Azerbaijan. At night the facades of the three buildings transform into giant displays that show a burning flame—an image that recalls the nation's ancient history of fire worship and the inspiring symbol of an eternal flame for modern Baku. The hotel tower, office tower and a residential tower are served by more than 50 Mitsubishi Electric elevators
and escalators. The high-speed elevators are equipped with the Destination-Oriented Prediction System, which is rapidly becoming a a global standard. A user enters a destination floor number on an operation panel in the elevator hall and is directed to an elevator car. Together with others going to the same floor, the user is whisked to the destination floor with minimal stops, raising operational efficiency. By reducing congestion and waiting time, the system realizes smooth, comfortable vertical transportation. Today on the shores of the Caspian Sea in the towers of fire, Mitsubishi Electric elevators and escalators are again moving the dreams of a nation that burns with a passion for progress.
