■The AutoCleaver LDF™ (Fujikura edition) is a high precision fiber cleaver, designed for cleaving of large diameter fibers (LDF). It provides outstanding cleaving performance for large diameter fibers from 230 μm up to 1000 μm in diameter. The unique and patent pending cleaving process generates typical cleave angles of less than 0.5 degrees.
■The AutoCleaver LDF™ (Fujikura edition) is compatible with the Fuji-kura FSM-45 and FSM-100 series fusion splicers. The fiber is cleaved to the correct length and since the cleaver accepts the standard Fujikura fiber holders, the cleaved fiber can be directly transferred to the splicer with no risk of touching or damaging the fiber end.
■During cleaving,the fiber coating is clamped by a touch-operated ten-sion clamp with linear inserts.The inserts are quickly interchangeable to match the diameter of the fiber coating.
■A v-groove clamp block and a fiber height adjuster are selected to match the diameter of the fiber cladding.These parts work together as a fiber handling kit to ensure optimum cleaving performance for a par-ticular fiber range and they have to be selected from the Selection Guide Matrix when you purchase the cleaver.The parts are easily exchanged by the operator when a different fiber size is to be cleaved.
■The built-in microprocessor controls all parameters and settings,such as fiber positioning. clamping.tension and the exact position and speed of the diamond blade.This control of sensitive parameters guarantees a high cleaving repeatability and accuracy.
■The AutoCleaver LDF™ (Fujikura edition)also accepts the use of NYFORS LD fiber holders used with the standard AutoCleaver LDFTM.In this case the linear inserts are replaced by a distance plate.This provides a versatile use of the cleaver for operations when splicing is not required.
■The cleaver is designed to generate a minimum amount of fiber waste, typically less than 20 mm.An automatic waste disposal system removes any hazardous fiber scraps.The cleaver can be connected to a PC that gives access to all programmable parameters and settings.
■The AutoCleaver LDFTM(Fujikura edition)comes in a small bench top design.
